This work deals with the characteristic linguistic phenomena that can be observed in
communication on the social network Facebook. Demonstrated phenomena in this work do
not apply to all Facebook user groups, but are based on a specific discussion group
represented by students staying in Liberec college campuses. In this sense, therefore, it is
a language and factual analysis of the communication of students aged between 20 and 26
years. The analyzed phenomena are categorized into the appropriate language plane. There
are morphological, lexical, syntactic, stylistic and graphic phenomena. All the phenomena
contain an initial description of how they are formed, or in what situations and for what
purpose they are used. In addition to the description, we can also find a variety of authentic
examples that are taken from a newsgroup on Facebook and are meant to capture students'
online communication.
